The Mustang 1 is a 20 Watt amplifier for electric guitars of all kinds. It is just another member of the vaunted Fender amplifiers that have been staples for many musicians for years. The sound pours out of the 8’ specially designed 8 “speaker which is fully enclosed in nicely designed cabinet.

This amplifier has 24 presets that are segmented into 3 groups of 8 presets and all of them are controlled by a single knob for ease of selection. These 24 presets include 12 modulation and 12 delay and reverb effects. Here is a sample of some of the effects chorus, phasing, tremolo, vibratone, reverb, echo, octaver and more.

Along with the control for the amplifier presets you find all of the other controls; Gain, Volume, Trebel, Bass, Master, Save Button, Exit Button and Tap Tempo Button. All of the buttons and knobs are located on the front of the amp. There is also a 1/8” headphone jack to plug in your favorite headphones and you can pretty much jam out anywhere and not disturb anyone around you.

The Mustang I will also connect to your computer using Fender’s Fuse software. The software gives you onscreen display of tools and all sorts of goodies. You also have access to online storage and access to the Fender Fuse community. The whole Fender online world is waiting for you.

Nearly every review we were able to find online gave this guitar amp is a five star rating. We were able to find only a couple of negative reviews of it. One of the negative comments was that the Fuse software included is limited for Mac users (Mac OSX10.5 and later) and Fender is not very clear about that. Another reviewer thought that the Fuse software was a little buggy.

Cheaply made – input jack, headphone jack, footswitch jack all flimsy cheap plastic and all broken within first year. No parts available for purchase from fender so expensive service required to fix. $100 to much to pay for a disposable amp.
